SOUTH AFRICAN DOCTORS ARE SATISFIED WITH THE SUCCESS OF THE SURGICAL PROCEDURES UNDERTAKEN ON MOHAMED FADEL TAMIMI
The surgery in South Africa for a Mohammed Tamimi in Sunday 21 October 2018 has been successful.
Shamsaan, meaning 2 suns in Arabic, is a South African initiative that advocates for the protection of children’s rights to peace, equality, dignity, justice and freedom. Our projects have focussed on children impacted by military conflict and human rights abuse.
Shamsaan extends a heartfelt gratitude to the support of the maxilofacial surgeons Dr Jameel Desai and Dr Coelette Smit, Aneastatist Dr Hizir Mukaddam and plastic surgeons Dr Ridwan Mia, his assistant Ms Engela Van Wyk and the large medical support team that collectively made this transformational operation for the young Palestinian boy, 15 year old Mohammed Tamimi. Shamsaan after responding to Mohammed Tamimi’s plea for help on Facebook, sought medical assistance he required that includes his left eye that was visually impaired and had no movement of the eyeball. Movement has now been restored and Mohamed confirmed that his eyesight has significantly improved. His damaged cheekbone and forehead received the reconstructive surgery required.
A special thank you to all involved in making it possible for him to be here in South Africa and all who have prayed for him and have sent through messages of support.
